The Chelsey Rae Ebert Scholarship was created by Chelsey and her father Jay Ebert, for the advancement of education for Ferndale High School students. This Scholarship awards two FHS senior girls each year, one from basketball and one from volleyball to be used at any University or school the students select. Since we started this in 2008 we have added all Whatcom County High Schools and through 2015 we have presented over 85 scholarships to senior girls who are continuing education.
Chelsey Ebert was someone who typifies the spirit of the scholarship. Chelsey attended Ferndale High School from 2006 – 2007 and participated in varsity volleyball and basketball. She was an excellent student and athlete and as a freshman, Chelsey lettered in basketball, which was a huge highlight and accomplishment for her.
Chelsey was a first class individual who represented herself admirably, loved her family very much and always left a lasting impression with her smile and laugh that was with her to the end. She lived life to the fullest and truly cared about people, going out of her way to help those in need. This event truly depicts Chelsey’s spirit.

72 Build-a-Bears outfitted with clothes, accessories and all the fun things that can go along with these bears were donated to Children’s hospital oncology unit in Seattle, Washington. Chelsey’s sister Jordan made each of these bears to give to the kids on the oncology floor in the fall of 2008.
42 Scentsy Sasha Buddy Bears were donated to Children’s hospital oncology unit in Seattle, Washington by Jordan in the fall of 2011. Jordan learned that Scentsy had this amazing Charitable Cause program and would be donating 100% of the net proceeds to the chapters of Ronald McDonald House Charities. So not only did the kids at Children’s benefit but the local Ronald McDonald House benefited as well.
